Net-Zero Community

OUR VISION

We are building a future where homes combat climate change, create more energy than they consume while elevating the standard of community living. As advocates of sustainability, BillionBricks shares the vision of prioritizing environmental, social, and economic considerations.

OUR STORY

Inspired to action in 2013, architect Prasoon Kumar and venture capitalist Anurag Srivastava started BillionBricks to help address the global climate and housing crisis. BillionBricks was founded on the premise that the current solutions are failing and that we need to reinvent new ways to work on these challenging issues.

2013 -2020

Originally a non-profit, BillionBricks launched WeatherHYDE, an award-winning, life-saving emergency shelter. Hailed by Ashton Kutcher as “innovation at its finest”, BillionBricks has provided shelters, schools, homes, and emergency relief support to over 15,000 people across 9 countries.

2020 onwards

In 2020, BillionBricks pivoted to become a for-profit enterprise to advance the development of the world’s first self-financing solar homes. By innovating building models, tapping on new energy technologies, and actively engaging homeowners, BillionBricks is able to provide sustainable, eco-friendly, and affordable homes that uplift entire communities.

With our partner, Engie, a global leader in energy generation and management, BillionBricks is building the first net-zero communities in the Philippines.
